Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions apply to all services provided by Matthew Pooley trading as Matthew the Plumber (“we”, “us”, “our”). By booking our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.


2. Services

We provide plumbing and heating services including but not limited to repairs, installations, maintenance, and emergency call-outs. All work is carried out with reasonable skill and care.


3. Quotes and Estimates

All quotations are valid for 14–30 days unless stated otherwise. Quotes may be subject to change if additional work, materials, or unforeseen issues arise.


4. Pricing and Payment

  • Payment is due upon completion of works unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • We reserve the right to request deposits for larger projects.
  • Late payments may incur additional charges.

5. Cancellations

Customers must provide reasonable notice for cancellations. We reserve the right to charge for costs incurred if cancellation occurs after work has been scheduled or materials ordered.


6. Customer Responsibilities

The customer must ensure safe and reasonable access to the property and working area. We are not responsible for delays caused by restricted access or unsafe working conditions.


7. Liability

We are not liable for:

  • Pre-existing faults or system failures
  • Damage caused by hidden defects or outdated installations
  • Indirect or consequential losses

Our liability is limited to the value of the work carried out.


8. Warranty

Workmanship is guaranteed for a period of 12 months unless otherwise stated. Manufacturer warranties apply to supplied materials and products.


9. Complaints

Any complaints should be made in writing within a reasonable time after completion of works. We will aim to resolve issues promptly and fairly.


10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
